Tecom Group attends IBC 2015 and shares an expert opinion about the future of television

Amsterdam, the Netherlands — Tecom Group took part in IBC 2015 – the premier annual event in the broadcasting and telecommunication industry, which was held on September 11-15 at the RAI Convention Center in Amsterdam (Netherlands).

IBC 2015 was unanimously agreed to be the most successful yet. More than 250 top level speakers took part in the event, over 1800 companies from 170 countries exhibited their products and solutions. The total number of attendees exceeded 55,000. The conference program comprised the following sessions: Business Operations, Content Innovation, Strategic Insights, Advances in Technology. During the exhibition, new ways of collaboration with the community of professionals were defined – everybody joined the debate about the future of electronic media.

In IBC 2015 Tecom Group showcased proprietary solutions in the broadcasting industry at the stand of its subsidiary company Q’ligent. During the 6 days Tecom Group’s General Manager, Alexander Kabanov and Vice president, R&D, Aleksey Dolgov attended business meetings with the existing Russian and foreign customers and prospects. Tecom Group’s top management believe these meetings to be promising for the company as they should give new possibilities of expanding the geography of Tecom Group’s market penetration and increasing sales in the international market.

Alexander Kabanov shares his impressions of the exhibition: “At the center of the debate this year was the future of electronic media in the era of radical changes. Today, the consumer’s preferences are the key factor that defines trends of the broadcasting industry development. It is up to a viewer to decide what he or she wants to watch and what device to use. The experts also emphasize the growing number of VOD services’ customers.

The evolution of the broadcasting industry goes hand in hand with the development of digital technologies, that is why all innovative products and solutions showcased during the exhibition were aimed at IP TV and OTT services providers. Following these trends, Tecom Group demonstrated Qligent solution for satellite, cable, IPTV and OTT providers, as well as for television companies and TV channels that are interested in monitoring the quality of media distribution. The innovation of Qligent was highly praised and welcomed by by Channel 1 (Russia), VGTRK (Russia), “NTV” (Russia), “TV-News” (“RT” formerly “Russia Today”), Rostelecom (Russia).
