Nizhny Novgorod, Russia — Tecom Group successfully completed the experimental commissioning of Qligent Vision monitoring system for PLC “Petersburg-Channel 5”.
This pilot project was intended to demonstrate the capabilities of Qligent Vision (the playout quality monitoring system) at any point in the distribution chain. From September 5, 2014 to May 15, 2015 Tecom Group provided Channel 5 specialists with the full access to the system which was deployed across the network of TV cable operator “Akado” in Moscow and the networks of “ER-Telecom” in Nizhny Novgorod and Ekaterinburg”.
The configuration tailored for Channel 5 allowed to perform end-to-end monitoring of RF-signals of analog and digital cable TV channels. Besides, compliance recording with 720х576 resolution was implemented.
It’s worth a mention, that for every channel the monitoring of the following parameters was carried out:
Digital DVB-C signals: signal level; MER, PreBER, PostBER; errors TR101 290 p1, p2, p3; bitrates; QoE ( black screen, freeze frame) , loudness (EBU R128).
Analog RF-signals: signal level, signal-to-noise ratio, video/audio ratio; QoE (black screen, freeze frame).
