Melbourne, FL — Tecom Group - an expert in broadcasting automation systems announced the release of Loudness – a dynamic loudness verification and error prevention solution for television and radio broadcasters.
Since the FCC issued the Commercial Advertisement Loudness Mitigation Act or CALM Act, media content providers have been struggling with yet another serious issue that stood between them and their audience. Similar loudness regulations were introduced across the world, making sound adjustment an international challenge for those dealing with various types of content from different sources.
Having received a number of requests from existing partners, Tecom Group launched the development process of a solution that would resolve the excessive loudness issues. This led to the introduction of Loudness – the first preproduction volume monitoring system. Loudness has a robust toolset that makes it possible to perform the following tasks:
Alexander Kabanov, General Manager, states: “When doing research on the loudness monitoring systems we couldn’t help noticing a market tendency that most solutions provided postproduction monitoring. This obviously comes in handy for oversight bodies, but for broadcasters this seems like an overdue measure that won’t save them from unwanted penalties. When developing Loudness we took this observation into account and created a system that can detect inadmissible volume elevation and point exactly to the problematic segment thus ensuring successive CALM Act compliant broadcasting.”
